I enjoy translating Chinese literature, poetry and propaganda. The moral exhortations and advertisements here are both baffling and excellent for learning Chinese. They change often, so much of what you see here is already old. The phrase of 2005 is "hexie" or "harmonious". Buy an old bicycle for 80 yuan and explore the back-roads and remaining Hutongs; you're sure to recognize a few slogans. Martin Winter, translator
